Book Description
A romance novel that takes place in Arizona right after the Civil War. Amanda Green, a Union Army nurse has seen more pain, hurt and killing than any genteel woman should. She's survived it and a disastrous marriage to travel to Arizona in search of the money her banker husband trusted to a friend to start a bank. In Mineral Wells, there's no money, and no banker. Sheriff Wade Denton suggests Amanda return where she came from or move on. This is no place for a woman. He's sworn off women and settled here trying to put the war years, his failures, and a broken heart behind him. This flaxen haired beauty means one thing trouble, and he knows it. But, Amanda has come too far to turn back now.

Elizabeth Butler has written a moving story about two people who are bound tightly to their pasts and struggling to overcome their fears in order to move forward with their lives. Unexpected twists and turns added to a good plot. I enjoyed reading this book!
